Dublin has a large selection of museums on offer to the tourist including the National Museum in Kildare Street which opened in 1890. It houses a large collection of Irish artifacts from 7000 BC to the present day. The James Joyce Martello Tower in Sandycove was built in 1804 and is where James Joyce the writer once stayed in 1904. The exhibition includes many of his first editions and even some of his clothes. Also worth a visit is The National Wax Museum in Parnell Square which is full of realistic famous figures, including Irish leaders, politicians, actors, writers and musicians.
